TikTok Shop product image size and square framing (MY)

TikTok Shop product tiles crop to 1:1. Official minimum clarity is often 600×600; Fernpix uses 800×800 as a practical floor, JPEG or PNG, file usually under 5 MB, product filling about 70% of the frame.
Use the TikTok Shop MY preset to verify those numbers before you publish. The check runs in the browser; the image is not uploaded.

Why square matters on TikTok Shop
The product tile crops to a square. If your source is 4:3 or has uneven padding, the platform may reject the image or center-crop into the product. Export true 1:1 with intentional margin.

White background & cutout
Many categories expect a clean product on white — similar to other MY marketplaces. Local cutout + white fill keeps unreleased inventory private compared with cloud removers.

After one SKU passes, mirror the steps in Workbench for the rest of the drop. Pair with the fix guide when TikTok or Shopee rejects the same asset for different reasons.
TikTok Shop image checklist
- Export 1:1 — do not rely on the platform to pad.
- Stay under the file-size limit after JPG export.
- Use white or category-allowed background.
- Convert HEIC before upload if you shoot on iPhone.
FAQ
What size should TikTok Shop product images be?
Tiles crop to 1:1. Official clarity is often 600×600; Fernpix uses 800×800 as a practical floor. JPEG or PNG, typically under 5 MB, product filling about 70% of the frame.
Why did a Shopee-passed JPG fail TikTok Shop?
TikTok Shop chops non-square exports. A 4:3 or padded Shopee file can clip the product. Run the TikTok Shop profile as a second check.
Can the main tile have promo text?
Keep watermarks and promo type off the main image. The 5 MB cap is not permission to clutter the frame.
